That’s similar to my play style, but I use casts consistently to snare enemies and gain the damage buff. Dash in, drop a cast, dash out, range damage. The most OP build I discovered was almost entirely cast boons, crucially including the ranged fireball one. Rarely bother with omegas - too slow.

+1 for Into the Breach. It’s up there with Slay the Spire & Hades for me. Also worth mentioning Cobalt Core and Samurai Showdown.
