Strike action is ON!!!

Next week will be the first of 4 weeks of striking from our members as we continue to say NO to the compulsory redundancies forced on us by the university for their poor financial choices.

The university cannot dump their mistakes onto our shoulders. And when they try to do this, we will push back in solidarity.

Strike action is off for next week, but the fight continues.

Nearly 2/3rds in attendance voted to keep fighting this semester and reballot to keep the fight up for next semester as well.

These votes sends a clear and strong message: we are NOT done fighting and we will NOT stop fighting until our jobs are safe.

At last week's members meeting, we voted on ending our dispute. Administrators offered to pause compulsory redundancies until February, at which point they will begin in full what they have threatened all along.

Over 90% of members in attendance voted to reject this (non-)offer.

While strike action may be on pause this week, there are still ways to get involved with our fight for the actual future of our university.

One option is the excessive workload workshop this Wednesday at 10:30. Register at the link below!

We will then hold a rally at the Trent building at 12:40 on Tuesday. Everyone is welcome! Come on out and make a whole bunch of noise so the administration can't ignore us.

As our strike action continues, we will continue to organise teach outs to share our knowledge with the broader community while continuing to withhold our labour from the university. We love to teach! So if you love to learn, come say hi and keep your eyes peeled for more!

Link to join will be shared with members via email, but do reach out if you are interested in attending but not an employee at the university!

Still buzzing from our pickets and rally this week. Our branch is ready to fight over the long haul as we stand up to the university.

There WILL be no compulsory redundancies and we WON'T stop until that's guaranteed.
