I dropped off another installment yesterday for getting my watch fixed yesterday (£200), the remaining £150 to be paid on January 23rd. Christmas dinner for me is going to be this.... Hopefully the price of crumpets, potatoes and bread won't go up! 😁

Just watching Oppenheimer for the first time, 7 minutes in and it already looks superb. I'm well up on the Manhattan Project, especially US testing of Atomic and Nuclear weapons during after WW2 so I'm going to love it.

Many decades ago, I used to buy books of short ghost stories and short horror stories (fictional) I remembered a brilliant ghost story called The Lonely Inn by Thomas Burke and I've just now listened to it recited on Just Chills (podcast) It's a simple tale with a chilling twist at the end.

Just had the jewellers call me about how much it'll cost me to get my watch fixed, it's £645. This is wonderful and shitty news. Why? Because about a year ago, they said it'd cost £845. Imo? The owner probably found it'd cost £645 and was going to pocket £200 for himself....
