Hintergrund: Die Organisation musste im Juni 2025 einen NSF-Förderantrag über 1,5 Mio. USD zurückziehen, obwohl das Projekt zur Förderung empfohlen wurde. Grund war eine neue Richtlinie der NSF, die es geförderten Organisationen untersagt, Programme speziell für unterrepräsentierte Gruppen anzubieten. Dies widerspricht den zentralen Werten von The Carpentries: Inklusion, Diversität, Gerechtigkeit und Zugänglichkeit.
