It's usually the last step I do. I almost always start with a grey background. Been thinking lately about starting with a white background though because I think the grey stops me from using more vibrant colours.

Your colors are the definition of vibrant, but I know what you mean. I have that weird artist condition where unless it's BLINDINGLY COLOR X, I'm like... ah that's too washed out, better pump it up To 255 0 0 juUUUUUst in case.

How do I hire you? Also as a former pet portrait artist for hire, I completely understand If I cannot hire you. These are astonishing and the pressire is immense once money gets involved.

And engineers. And the guys wjo lay the rebar. The concrete. Install the windows. Manufacture all these things. Art is everywhere.

Correct. This was the three things for this scene.

But... that's okay? It takes all kinds to make a world. I walk by massive buildings and structures that are calculated to within fractions of an inch, to the gram, things people agonized and lost sleep over. What is meaningful to them is not always meaningful to me.

Even though practically speaking every story will, at some point, almost always literally explain the plot. General audiences. You know the pain of working retail.

1) explain the plot 2) worldbuild because you can describe/explain the church/religion 3) add conflict bc of how characters react to 2.

Also this post does 2 things 1) makes a good point about show vs tell and show AND tell and 2) funny, i assume, because chars should not just explain the plot

"Takes one to know one" could have had it's time to shine. Like you know he's not gonna be quick enough on the draw for anything after THAT. He might get his buddies to beat you up at recess and take your lunchbox though.

Honestly more of a coordinated attempt to get us all off AO3/fan fic addictions and get actual work done. Never assume malice when there's stupidity and/or smut :)

Hmm. Kind of a literal shake hands with the devil type of thing.

My most recent character arc has been that nihilism means nothing matters, and that's awesome.

Driving home one day, we saw a guy on rollerblades doing the salsa. Younger me? Oh god I would be so embarrassed. Current me? Thinking about buying rollerblades. He looked so happy.

Ah!

Serious question: do you start with the background color or add it after?
