Outside of that, I prefer woof or dsda-doom if you want something thats a bit less compatible but more true to the original engine and still has a bunch of compatibility with map packs and some more limited gameplay mods.
I found out today they added dsda-doom as a core to Bizhawk 2.11 as well.

As for other ports, it depends on what you're looking for. GZ/UZ Doom has the more "advanced" features so a lot of the pure gameplay mods that make the rounds require it. (Shit like Doom RPG, Project Brutality etc).
