People in power trying to control zoning will gaslight you into believing more control is good for cities. It’s not, the best cities grow organically and not by people in power who want to restrict more housing.

Setting up for a farmers market without a car? Yeah, it’s possible! I brought all this without using a car to my local farmers market to help vend for a friend.

How to include women in urbanism:

(1) host women only bike rides, round tables & committees.

(2) host social events NOT at a bar. Women can be anxious the environment is conducive to being hit on when they really just want to network.

(3) create a women's only urbanist networking group

I love a wide sidewalk! Wide sidewalks are great for many reasons, but one additional reason I like them is the ability to move larger items by hand with a handcart without getting in people's way.

Pedestrian bridges have their place, but they often symbolize the dominance of highways and infrastructure that prioritize cars. In some cases, they look amusement park queue lines gone vertical. There is lost opportunity to have a street level experience and connection to your community.

The feeding frenzy of social media has led me here. I’ll be posting my urbanism content here. Was I pressured by @streetcarskitch.bsky.social to join? Maybe.
