I have been in Europe a lot recently. a few lectures about how much life is better in Denmark. No hate. A taxi driver I was speaking to with my mediocre French says he prefers Americans to Brits because they never try to speak French. My impression is most of Europe prefers Americans to Brits.

TBH, my child is at a middle school with a ton of SEL. I do not object at all, I think it’s great. I also know it hasn’t really made a dent in bullying or racism, unfortunately. But it does give the school an excuse to say it is doing everything it can about those things.

A girl 100% did this with my son last year when they were in 7th grade. She was just like, “you. You’re my boyfriend now.” He was like, “ok.” It worked for 24 hours; then she told him to hug her in front of his friends and to stop wearing his baseball cap. He broke up with her.

I honestly feel like we should keep him here. Haven’t we suffered through enough terrible governors? So many times I could barely stand to vote for anyone.

He’s retiring. I am positive. He voted as leadership, not as an IL senator and not as someone standing for reelection.

Durbin is retiring and part of leadership. I think leadership decided this had to happen and threw themselves on their swords. I was disappointed Durbin basically shut off his phones. It was clear he wasn’t listening. We still have Duckworth.

Yesterday Durbin’s office was t taking calls or even making voice mail available. Today the switchboard itself is jammed.
