Official name of the Orange Order clubhouses. They are a sectarian group who cause hate & division under the guise of ‘tradition’. Back when the Partition of N Ireland happened, members of the OO forced my GtGrandparents out of their house & stole it from them because my family were Catholic.

My mum survived her flu encounter, but it left her with Cardiomyopathy, which she died from 5 years later at the ripe age of 53.

My mum survived her flu encounter, but it left her with Cardiomyopathy, which she died from 5 years later at the ripe age of 53.
She has thyroid cancer, people love to tell her it’s an easy cancer. But hers wasn’t diagnosed in good time & it metastasised. Her entire neck from ear to ear, in one big U & parts of her chest was burnt raw. Then she got in with The Christie & they told her they never would have put her through it.

The RCC has lost its iron grip on Ireland. When I went to school in the ‘80s, unwed mothers could still get sent to a Magdalene Laundry; condoms, divorce, abortion in any form & being LGBTQ was illegal.You had to be Baptised to enroll in a state school.That’s all changed for the better now.

I remember it well. Us girls would talk about little else on our lunch breaks.’Ms X’ was a 14 year old kid who had been raped. In the end they allowed her to travel because she said the pregnancy made her feel suicidal. It was awful. Ireland has come so far from those dark days.

That’s what I think too. They have to be counting daily newspapers & pamphlets, or kid’s picture books & cooking instructions on the back of a pizza box 🤷🏻♀️

You’ve been through the mill, I hope you’re starting to feel like yourself again. Radiotherapy is awful - I watched my sister as her skin burned from the inside to the outer layers. How have we not found a kinder treatment yet, it’s almost 2026💚

I have a chronic illness which leads to a lot of downtime, I have so, so, so much time on my hands & I read 42 books this year.

I remember telling my brother that I intended to watch every Star Trek episode ever made & he scoffed, said no one had that much time. I told him he was seriously underestimating my ability to binge watch tv😂 I proved him wrong & have seen every series bar the cartoons.

Even with the best parents in the world kids still get influenced by greater society; by social media & by the toxic sludge they watch online. A lesson like this only works to back up & enhance any lessons from their parents. It’s a win-win situation.
