Pity, we had a great time in Seattle (spent decent money as well) and wanted to come back next year. Not like this though

“ Men will not look at things as they really are, but as they wish them to be—and are ruined. ”
Niccolò Machiavelli soon 500 years ago and it’s still the same stuff. ..

You think this is comedy but then realise it’s not. Hard to really comprehend the privilege required to write nonsense so detached from reality

I mean that guy, seriously cures imposter syndrome

Elections already have a standard for success, you don’t have to make one up.

Can’t argue about taste but I did based on your last post and found it very cool. I also find it generally correct to show some of the messiness of life. I think I’d draw the line at accidents and consequences of violence.

Hahaha, not to do the drive-by thing too much. But this was way tamer and cooler than I thought it would be 😀

My bad, jumped in too fast. Jupp, weird decade to sell infrastructure to China instead of public investments.
November 4, 2025 at 1:23 PM
Wa? It was not without problems but also a decade with great stock market returns and low borrowing cost for housing.
November 4, 2025 at 11:52 AM
Haha, exactly that was exactly my point in the beginning. So many of these discussions that are critical of centrist takes completely refuse to debate on the plane that the takes are made on and seemingly cant differentiate how things are from how they should be.
Anyway, cheers this was a good one

But so what? Progressives want so often to have this debate on morals and whats right instead of on tactics. If you say “yes but the media “ thats great. But many say “no, media, …“ thats doesn’t go anywhere.

I also really really didn’t like Obama’s appearances. He somehow just came off as smug and it was so obvious he wasn’t going to reach anyone. It was all way too elitists.
October 30, 2025 at 7:58 AM
I don’t know but that’s really my point. If even i who agrees with her and are of course motivated by the facts find it lame then what about the rest of voters. It seems pretty obvious though that she is a bad campaigner and was surrounded by really bad people
October 30, 2025 at 7:56 AM
On second thought there is probably also some reverse ageism and sexism. Biden as the steady old man could run on the threat to democracy in a way that Harris just couldn’t.
October 30, 2025 at 7:53 AM
Yes but if you look at Biden 2012, sure he might have had those positions but I doubt that he was defined by them, he had many things defining him. You only need to reinvent yourself from things people believe, know and think about you, not all the rest you did.
October 30, 2025 at 7:48 AM
Right?! But watching her campaign I always thought that her “oh but he is a threat to democracy” was the weakest part, it just always seemed lame somehow. Like Hillarys attack on his character. Also You don’t get to choose your voters. (And the media landscape)
October 30, 2025 at 7:46 AM
It does not invalidate it as a diagnosis and that’s really important!
And simply does a lot of work here!
Look at the last three Presidents, 5 elections. Two unique inspiring populist (Obama, Trump) one safe boring centrist (Biden).
That’s not simple. But hey I completely agree with your direction
October 30, 2025 at 7:40 AM
She would have never been VP if it wasn’t 2020 (remember it was so toxic then that even Bernie wasn’t progressive enough) and never candidate if Biden had done the right thing.
October 30, 2025 at 7:35 AM
Reinvented? Biden had decades of recognition and was obviously the nice feisty uncle and he was legitimately moderate in the 2020 field.
That was never an option for Harris and she left 2020 loosing and giving everyone the sense she has no real beliefs.
October 30, 2025 at 7:34 AM
But you do remember who he was running against? It was trivial for him to be the moderate in 2020.
October 30, 2025 at 7:24 AM
This is why this debate is so silly, these arguments are so beside the point. Republicans getting away with shit does not invalidate that dems don’t.

Obviously (sadly), advocating for trans rights is more toxic than dismantling access to abortion. Have you been awake the last the few years?
October 30, 2025 at 7:23 AM
I agree if taken to an extreme but how is “fun, running on unpopular opinions failed the last few times lets try again” any better?
October 30, 2025 at 7:11 AM
Hard to believe that the trans stuff and similar hurt her? It was obvious, it was everywhere in 2024. Its not fair but it is was it was. 2020 the most boring centrist won as the party drifted hard left on really unpopular issues.
October 30, 2025 at 7:05 AM
Jeesus, still with this. The way Biden hung one was almost treasonous
October 29, 2025 at 6:59 AM
Fun angle, good one!
