To make it short. Putin lies A LOT. He is better at it than Trump, but then again, every child is, but still, his lies are not particularly sophisticated and can quite easily proven wrong. He lied to Macron and the whole legal team that was listening in the other room.

There was one Sternenko (I know what people think of him) post where he claimed they even captured a batallion HQ with all the euqipment intact. guess we have to wait a bit for clarification. I hope Russians lied again.

If there is nothing else available at that moment, there is not even a need for a calculation. Either it is shot down or not. And the damage if it hits a train or substation is far more than 400k.

Also I would expect to see some North Korean involvement on China/Russian side if it becomes a hot conflict. They feel emboldened lately, especially after the Americans suffered their first heavy losses (several large ships sunk, for example), expect some free riders.

Even without a treaty: Russia would always stick to China vs US. Trump fantasizes otherwise. He would do better to weaken Russia as much as possible, because a weak Russian allied with China is better than a strong Russia allied with China. Europe would normally stick with the US, but ...
