BREAKING: 3 members of the Adelaide Festival Board have resigned after it refused to reverse its decision to rescind Dr Abdel-Fattah's invitation. No statement has been issued but their names have been quietly removed from the website.

Four people are now responsible for the ongoing crisis.

Remember when the Australian Jewish Association fiercely opposed the Indigenous Voice to Parliament, calling it divisive and against Aussie values? Fast-forward to 2026, and they're backing Jillian Segal's role as Antisemitism Envoy—basically a Jewish Voice to Parliament without a referendum.

A question for fearless journos out there to put to Australia's political leaders. Why do we have > $300 billion to attempt to buy submarines but not enough $ to pay more fire fighters & support staff & to buy more urgently needed firefighting equipment, so we have sufficient resources when needed?!

The audacity of these threats. It’s time Aussie taxpayers stopped paying Segal.

Take AUKUS off the table. Stuff paying the criminal US regime.

As for a RC, @albomp.bsky.social, roll in 500k voters’ wishes and investigate all detractors from our social cohesion.

The ArtsHub list is at 90, but given it doesn't have eg Brigid Delaney, John Lyons, Bob Brown, Marian Wilkinson, it's a good bet the real number is over 100.

The world's richest 0.1% took just three days to exhaust their annual carbon budget

The UK’s richest 1% produced more carbon pollution in eight days than the poorest 50% used in a year.

We can't afford the rich - they produce corruption, poverty, environmental degradation; destroy democracy.
World’s richest 1% have already used fair share of emissions for 2026, says Oxfam

⚠️Nobody ever talks about the crazy ⬆️40%-50% higher risk of hospital staff deaths during/after pandemic. Pre-pandemic death rate was 850-900… post pandemic it’s hovered around 1200-1300 consistently since 2022 to today. #LongCovid is serious. It’s not the vaccine—been proven. It’s COVID.

Adelaide Writers Week is one of my most loved events every year, where I've had the pleasure of interviewing Richard Dennis & Yanis Varoufakis. The brave expression of free & open ideas is the DNA of this festival. I won't be participating this year unless the decision is reversed.

The point is that, while criminal proceedings are on foot, a royal commission can't look at anything to do with the Bondi shootings or the shooters, including why and how they did it, that is it can't touch on the subject that is its sole reason for being established. It will achieve nothing.
There's a glaring problem with calls for a royal commission into the Bondi terror attack
Australians deserve answers after the Bondi Beach shooting — but a royal commission won't deliver them.

Just want to say a giant FU to PBAC, which is only recommending semaglutide (Wegovy) to be listed on the PBS for patients who've *already* experienced a cardiovascular event such as a heart attack, stroke, or have symptomatic peripheral arterial disease. This is horribly bad public policy

PBAC decision to greenlight PBS listing of Wegovy only for patients who've had *diagnosed* cardiovascular events means more men than women will be able to access subsidised GLP-1s due to diagnostic discrimination. Further entrenching gendered health discrimination www.abc.net.au/news/health/...
Heart attack signs look different in women. It affects the care they receive
Australian women having a heart attack are less likely to be promptly diagnosed and treated compared to men, although the gender gap in cardiac care is narrowing.

Disappointed to see Jon Stewart & co joke about masking in public. I do it for my medically fragile daughter (Batten Disease). People not masking properly led to her getting pneumonia, which led to her being on life support, which led to me getting price quotes on her cremation just in case.
