Delighted by the rebranding of "being a cheap-ass" —> "embracing underconsumption."

Politically, it's bleak out there. Dusty Johnson's op-ed about good journalists is refreshing. I hope his colleagues take note. Journalists are SUPPOSED to ask challenging questions—whether politicians like it or not. www.argusleader.com/story/opinio...

It’s important we take time to celebrate good journalists who ask tough questions and turn them into fair stories that educate the public.

A funny thing about the mayor of a small metropolis pointing out problems—like a lack of interest in running for local government offices—is that he's in a position to do something about it. He's the MOST equipped out of any ordinary citizen to make a change, to be an encourager, to do better.

Has anyone else noticed that a midlife crisis for men in 2025 isn't a sports car, it's getting into commercial real estate?

The problem with a salad lunch is the necessary 4 support snacks to tide me through the afternoon.

Does anyone have good writing on using social media ethically?

I'm on The Apps often for my job and often for mindless scrolling and I think I need to be more mindful of the time and attention I give.

I believe there's good in connecting, but only if there's mindfulness about it, too.

There's rarely external reward for doing less, going slower, and enjoying the ride—at least in this economy.

You should do it anyway.

What if we tell all the tech bros that if we have better public transportation we'll use The Apps on our commutes too? What if we pinky promise? Will they get us wifi-enabled buses? Please?

The inherent designer urge to chase down and pursue an idea before it waltzes off into the sunset at the expense of my necessary daily tasks.

March is birthday season and as I'm trying to inch away from the Apps for purchases, I'm proud of sourcing gifts from local places.

Why wasn't I doing this all along?

I know the answer: convenience, life with small kids, knowing you'll find exactly what you're looking for. No longer worth it.

I finally pulled the plug on my bird app account! It was a fun place once. I'll miss the days of live-tweeting an event and getting to peek into another part of the world. The content is just garbage now!
