We are happy that the group at @iasliu.bsky.social led by Károly Takács is also working on this type of data in Sweden, creating great conditions for the development of these studies in our country and future collaborations.

But this is just a first step towards answering the social scientific questions we are ultimately interested in, e.g. about social segregation in Sweden.

Our contribution gives some additional evidence that such networks can capture characteristics of the population they represent, while also highlighting assumptions, data quality issues, and the need for advances in multilayer network engineering (appliednetsci.springeropen.com/articles/10....).

This is an exciting topic, pioneered by the PopNet team (led by @franktakes.bsky.social and Eelke Heemskerk) and Statistics Netherlands (Jan van der Laan and Edwin de Jonge's poster at the #IC2S2 conference in 2019 is where we got the idea).

This week we are at the Comp. Visual Media Research Symposium in Zurich, with @matiaspiqueras.bsky.social presenting his work on visual structured topic modelling. @lrossi.bsky.social is also presenting recent results based on joint work on LLMs and social image clustering (osf.io/preprints/so...).
