On May 22, Catherine Caws, a professor of French and Francophone Studies in the School of Languages, Linguistics and Cultures, was awarded the title of Chevalier in the Ordre des Palmes Académiques for her instrumental role in the development of the French accréditations exams center @uvic.ca.
