Happy #WorldPostDay! Though #letters are rarer now, here’s some from 1915 during #WW1. They're addressed to Principal Salmon of the #Swansea Training College.

This letter was written in 1916 and it is addressed to Principal Salmon of Swansea training college. The text urges the college to black out the windows at night. Below the letter is a teal rectangle with the UWTSD logo in the left and the UWTSD library logo in the right. Between the logos is text that says “Letter, February 1916”. The image is square and has a teal background. Taking up the centre of the image is a scan of a letter from the Special Collections archives. Pattern books for designing cottages were popular at the beginning of the 19th century. In ‘A labourer’s cottage, who keeps poultry and pigs for sale,’ the main rectangle of the kitchen and bedroom is attached to a horizontal unit of three coops and two pigsties.

On #nationalpoetryday, we share with you this poem "To Our 'Mothers' from the Juniors" about student teachers' feelings at the start of term. It was printed in the 1903 issue of The Swan, magazine of the Swansea Training College.
