The less sense the interface makes, the less time users are willing to spend using it.

This influences how often potential customers think about this company, and lowers money coming from advertising or buying offered services.

Touching grass and working at the same time - that's what I call weekend multitasking ;))

Recently I was asked to help with a Pool Cleaning Services website. Here's what I found while auditing their competitor.

Added a 'dreamy feeling' for the customer exploring travel accommodations.

Playing 'hide and seek' with your Customers is getting more and more government attention across the globe.

Where did you see interface trickery yourself?

CostPlusDrugs is a company that offers drugs to patients with low markup, making them more affordable.

Here’s what I would do as cosmetic changes to make the interface even more obvious.

It would be very useful to create a feature in every profile: 🌡️ AI-slop barometer.

Just like "Account based in..." on Twitter now.

We were all spoiled by digital interfaces.
Companies need to give out candy* like it's Halloween every day.

*Candy in the digital world is frictionless usability.

We had snow for a couple of days, ~2 weeks ago, and I wish it was white most of winter.

Google Translate just waved at me.

(and yes, I used it to translate English into my native language. I like English better anyway! 🙈)

Making it hard to unsubscribe from recurring fees now equals a court battle with the US government.

On top of infuriating the Customer who will not want to ever come back.

Three platforms, same problem - AI moderation that leads to suspending, disabling/banning regular users' accounts.

No clear customer service process/appeal, you can “Go to court,” says the message from the Threads platform after disabling your account.

Why many websites fail to convince potential customers to buy something?

Often communication is not clear enough.

The level of obviousness required, in digital communication, is for many too absurd to accept.

Honest UX Design is not only good business, but sometimes it’s also what the law requires.

The Chairman of the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection recently opened an investigation...

From:
- “Static” background
- Overwhelm of pre-picked information
- Lots of different colors

To:
- Background communicating what we offer
- Limited amount of information
- Consistent style

Recently, I created a Threads account.

I got suspended twice in a week, I assume on suspicion of being a bot.

Google Search smiling ominously, teasing a little Microsoft Bing with the slogan. And a wink at the end ;)

Gathering feedback from users seems simple. And the rules are simple, but there are many rules, and you also need to know those rules’ order of importance (which rule “beats” which).

I asked Chat GPT to translate a text.

What I wanted to do:
- stay with a packed interface, yet make free space possible
- the website is already cut into clear sections, my aim was to make it leaner and show only the meat
- add short explanations/more evident visual & text hierarchy

Missed opportunities don’t show up on Excel spreadsheets or quarterly reports.
Platfrom X.com and LinkedIn allow only 4 choices in a poll.

That leads to:

- lower engagement from people who would vote on an additional poll option
