one last past artwork before we get back to the studio, this was an experiment craving organic ripple patterns into plywood, revealing the individual layers.

this was a design prototype for a client, but we feel it would look great displayed with a steel ball in t…

a little vase we printed with filament we made to emulate the look of lambertian shading, where it’s lightness is determined by it’s surface normal and it’s dot product with a light vector

using a custom ttf font in openscad is a lot easier then expected, and linja pona 4.9 seems to work flawlessly. we didn't expect this to be so easy, let's se if we can write a parametric nametag generator for the new project

we will be out of the studio for a bit, have some of our older works we haven’t shown yet.

this toki pona badge was laser carved and cut from aluminium and it turned out pretty well.

we were thinking of maybe making sitelen pona name badges

would you want one?

we discovered that we, in fact, do have more white underglaze. very excited to try some more once were back in the studio in a few weeks

we played around a bit with some underglaze and carving. not entirely happy with the carving as it is a lot deeper than expected but the mudtools carving tools do cur really well.
underglaze will probably fire pretty translucent but we’ll see

- our 2nd slip casting went a lot better
- dry mold
- 1 hour soak time
- solidifying in covered mold overnight
- it came out nice and leather hard, easy to handle but still workable

shrinkage is annoying in slip casting, we wish we could just make molds from existing objects but then they would be too small

ok so another slip casting attempt, this time in an oven dried mold with an hour to cast. looks promising so far, much thicker walls. we will let it dry overnight.

a continuation of our slip casting experimentation. After not wanting to come out of the mold all day yesterday, this very thin walled bowl dried to bone dry in just a few hours, cracking in the process.

it does not seem like the mold was sufficiently dry, resulting in the t…

we’ve been experimenting with 3d printed modular mold boxes.

this is an initial proof of connect for our first design. parts connect through meshing teeth allowing them to index rigidly and seal well, even allowing for the use of a sealing compound like petroleum jelly.

one downside of this desig…
