made a new way to express and share content, but we're just basically doing the same thing in a different form. That's not growth, that's just rehashing it! Perhaps the irony of that is why the word "progress" was put in quotation marks 🫣

-eye-opening and refreshing. It's like, wow, kinda hurts to hear that my previous way of thinking doesn't apply here anymore, but I suppose it's good to learn other ways of thinking now rather than later or never.

communicate and travel makes it unnecessary for people to have to be close to one another, but I genuinely hate that it has kind of reached that point. As someone who cherishes proximity to family and friends, the thought that we can rely on technology to bring us "closer" makes me sad 😞

-that because we are so immersed in our environments, we may believe that it is normal for everyone. To say that media helps to reveal those invisibles is something I agree with, because art sometimes helps highlight or emphasize the contrast between our reality and other's reality.

-displaced by emotional interpretation because of our sympathy. Makes me wonder if this is part of the reason why we see some people idolize or romanticize criminals, because they relate or feel emotional towards them... 🤔btw, I am totally against that sort of thing!

-anymore? I partly jest, I believe I'm still picking up and understanding why the author chose to describe his theories, points, and scenarios this way, but phew do I have to perform mental gymnastics to get even an inkling of what he's trying to say.

-media is appealing to and accelerating the abilities of our senses, hence the extension of the human body analogy: our body continues to perceive the world and absorb knowledge regardless of where the information comes from.

-for A KID to know. You can find examples of children acting on the media and influence they see on digital spaces, like young teens trying to appear more "mature," or kids finding other ways to support a protest via posts or games. These days, anyone can be a teacher to an impressionable child.

Buzzing like there's too many things around us that it's overwhelming and annoying? Or buzzing as in when we receive notifications on our devices and we rush to see what it is?
