I think if you ask the average person, they would have that movie in their top 10. It also has a 94% on rotten tomatoes. I think it's not a fair take to hold mass market stuff like Assassin's Creed 2 as the hallmark of gaming, while not saying the same for movies.

I feel like this is akin to saying "when Avengers: Endgame is considered among a medium's best works, that's not a mature medium". The people who make that argument have a different set of interests than those seeking a more "artistic" experience.

MacOS is built on FreeBSD, also a Unix like operating system. MacOS is closed source though.
