Today at #BAP2025 we heard from both lived-experience and pharmacology experts that clozapine,“Britain’s most dangerous drug” is lifesaving for people with treatment-resistance— with current thresholds for discontinuation racially unequal (some people have naturally lower but safe neutrophil levels)
Newspaper articles including the headline “Britain’s most dangerous prescription drug” Shows how some ethnicities have benign neutropaenia, which is not a risk factor itself but can lead to treatment cessation or burden of extra tests Summary that clozapine is underused and life-saving, despite known risks
