I always struggle in striking a balance between activism and escapism. But a Ray Bradbury book I haven't read yet definitely tips the scales. Today's a book-and-cat day. #booksky

"More Weight" by Ben Wickey is such a feast of a book. It's not only a great depiction of the Salem witch trials, but has the reaction of Hawthorne and Longfellow almost 200 years later. My favorite September read. #booksky #graphicnovels

Clients always want the moon, but I have never seen such high expectations for free work from #creatives - and more disturbingly, writers offer to work for free for me 2-3x a month. The power imbalance is so stark right now. #freelance #creativelife #freelancewriter

Jurassic Park Rebirth was so mid. I feel like a screenplay about InGen injecting Sea Monkeys with dino DNA would be better.

Home with a flat tire so it looks like it's #Caturday night in.

How embarrassing for Elon Musk that he has transformed into the out-of-touch, micromanaging Bill Lumbergh from Office Space.

Eleanor Roosevelt resigned from the DAR when they refused to let Marian Anderson perform at Constitution Hall. I really hope we can count on donors & influencers to lead with their voices in a similar fashion. This is chilling.

Hammer Horror coming out with their first new film in 60 years was not on my 2025 bingo card. No candelabras, castles, or Christopher Lee, but I'll take it. filmstories.co.uk/news/ithaqua... #filmclub #horrormovies
Ithaqua | Hammer Films announces new monster movie with a seemingly AI-generated poster
Good news: Hammer Films is making a new monster movie: Ithaqua. Not-so-good news: it appears to have used AI to generate the poster.

Does anyone know of a progressive mentorship program? Meeting with some women this week about maybe setting one up. 1:1 mentoring will be one of the strongest ways to impart real history and actionable advice to anyone young who isn't white, straight, or male.

CEO prospective client just told me I offer no value because "no one reads anymore, I never read anything." What a terrible #freelance timeline to be living in.

I know Shock Doctrine by Klein and On Tyranny by Snyder are recommended reading right now, but people would also be well served by reading Camus' Resistance, Rebellion, and Death. #booksky
