Angel’s Flight is a funicular that has been operating in downtown Los Angeles since 1901. It is 90m long and goes over 28m up and was moved once in 1967 It has featured in many films and honestly is the last thing I ever expected to see in LA!

Forestiere Underground Gardens in Fresno, CA is a hand built underground dwelling made by Sicilian immigrant, Baldassare Forestiere, between 1906 and 1946. It has underground trees, 65 rooms, and numerous levels and gardens that utilize skylights and rain to grow. It is open for tours daily.

In 1862 record rains led to the flooding of most of central California. The delta region around Sacramento was under 10 or more feet of water and boats were the only way to navigate the city. Governor Stanford had to use a rowboat to get to his inauguration at the Capitol building.

In central California there used to be a massive freshwater lake called Lake Tulare. It was slowly drying up into the 30s when some Chinatown style shenanigans led to it being drained for the richest cotton land in America. In 2023 it came back for a short time and flooded half of kings county.

For starters he wrote this book. Plus theres always an unhinged and violent character that ends up being the hero for some reason in his movies. Also he just has a vibe where if he wasn’t making movies he wouldn’t be allowed near children. I dunno its mostly a vibe
