The looming closure of the Valero refinery in Benicia comes as a shock to numerous nonprofits in the area.

Since 2000, Valero has given more than $77 million to local charities for causes including hunger relief and childhood education.

Renia Lewis, 28, went missing on Friday, setting off a frantic search.

She was found dead in a secret attic entrance in a Vallejo home on Tuesday and police arrested a man suspected of her murder.

Solano County has agreed to pay a 'historic' $17 million settlement to Nakia Porter and her father, who sued the county after two Solano sheriff deputies dragged Porter from her car and beat her unconscious while stopped on a road near Dixon in 2020.

My report on homeless students in Vallejo public schools shows that about one in 14 students experienced some form of homelessness last year.

The city has few shelter and low income housing options for them...

After months of delays, the Solano County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved an amended contract on Tuesday that will allow deputies from the Solano County Sheriff’s office to aid in Vallejo policing operations beginning Jan.1.
