About 50 volunteers showed up at the former U.S. Army Reserve Center in Vallejo on Saturday morning, some arriving as early as 8 a.m. to continue a nonprofit’s clean-up of trash, appliances, furniture and other materials dumped at the property.

The Vallejo City Council on Tuesday voted to move opioid settlement funds to a company currently handling operations at a delayed supportive housing project on Broadway until the site opens to house formerly unsheltered people by the end of the year.

Certified nurse midwives at Kaiser facilities in Northern California are now in their 18th month of negotiating their first union contract.

They staged two strikes this year and say they’re pushing for fair pay, benefits, and flexible schedules.

Former Vallejo housing manager Judy Shepard-Hall sued in 2023, claiming she was fired in retaliation for complaints about discrimination and harassment.

Benicia City Council members called into a Bay Area Air District meeting to ask that a portion of the grant money from an $82 million settlement with Valero be given to the city to offset the loss of city funding when Valero potentially closes in April.
