Walking this guy at the beach today. Sunny is a boy, but with long-coated dogs, it’s hard to tell. Passed a couple and the guy said, “Hey old girl.” I nodded, smiled, went a couple more steps before thinking, “I hope he was talking to the dog!”

Yesterday I had the privilege of being a visiting author for at a writing camp for high school students. These young people were fabulous--bright, inquisitive, engaged, and really terrific writers. The whole experience warmed my cold, black heart. Thanks to @writerhouse.bsky.social for having me!
