I don't disagree, but it depends on the mental illness and if someone has a diagnosis sometimes they turn to drugs. I don't know anything about him so I can't claim to know his medical history except what's been reported (don't know anything about the family except that I really really liked Rob).

Could be, or it could be he suffered a complete break with reality because of some mental health psychosis. It's probably both. Sane and sober people don't commit atrocious acts like this. It's usually drugs or mental health or both.

I would encourage parents to use the resources at their public libraries. There are a variety of programs for people of all ages and the book choices are never ending. You can't rely on the bureaucrats at schools anymore. And the teachers' hands are tied by the higher ups.

Oh, yeah. So you know South/West Cobb was the gerrymandered district I was talking about. I have family who lives there. They stay pissed about their votes being taken away.

How soon people forget that Georgia went to Biden in 2020 (and our Senators are both Dems...and 2 incumbent Republicans were just voted out of their seats in state races 2 weeks ago...)
Statewide, Georgia is purple. It's just gerrymandered to hell Federally and locally.

I could see an independent winning 14. The last two Dems that ran against her ran great races. The district was also recently gerrymandered to water down blue votes in a neighboring county. Those gerrymandered precincts are very Dem-leaning and voters would vote for anyone but Republicans.

That being said, I think Georgia as a *whole* is sick of MAGA and it'll be blue...or at least purple again in 2026.

Yes, but if you look at the stats by districts...her district was still very red and THEY voted for the republicans. They were just outvoted by the rest of GA. They are still supporting Trump. There have been interviews with ppl in that district about this. They are not voting for Dems.

Unfortunately it's not up to the whole of Georgia. It falls on the 14th district and it's full of the Kult Klan. She never would have made it into Congress if she'd run statewide because her only supporters are in that district.

This part. When she first ran she had to move to Appalachia country from a metro area because she was getting absolutely crushed there. She has absolutely no chance of ever holding a statewide office or a federal office that's not gerrymandered. Even her district might get tired of her at some point

I don't think that was him. The person running towards the flames had the utility vest on over their jacket and he had it under. And if you look at the background of the cab you can see two people running in the opposite direction of the fire. Either way, someone ran towards those flames.

He was way too little too late, but his daughter stood up to MAGA. At the very least she's on a different path than he was. I don't like Liz Cheney or agree with a lot of her politics, but I'm glad she didn't bend the knee.

We've been Purple for a while tbh (it's why the State Congress continues to gerrymander their districts), but the numbers tonight were nice to see. I voted in the primaries and primary run-offs and today as well. I'll do the same next year.
