Oh, I forgot to mention this is my long post about #SurelyTomorrow, but this drama is #Kopiko approved.

We're only four episodes in, and already there have been a few good crying scenes. I fully anticipate more to come as these two work through their messy relationship history to hopefully build something that can last into the future.

I was initially hesitant to start it because the premise made it seem like just another second-chance romance k-drama, but that was until I realized that this was actually a third-chance romance.

Day 12 - A platonic relationship you loved

From #HeadOverHeels: Bae Gyeon-woo and Pyo Ji-ho, who did not let their competition for the love of the FL get in the way of some cute and funny moments (although this screenshot is not really either of those).

In the case of the latter, the conflict arises from Jun-ho's desire to enkindle intellectual curiosity in his students, which he believes will improve their studying, as against Hye Jin's pragmatic, time tested regimen of teaching only what is relevant to acing subject matter tests.

For example, the animus that could develop between public school teachers trying to instill a sense of appreciation for a text or subject matter beyond the test, and hagwon instructors who are rewarded for getting their students to put these tests above all other considerations.

Day 11 - A Drama That Taught You Something New

#TheMidnightRomanceInHagwon taught me about the business of cram schools in Seoul.

Shen Ruoxin's friend, Song Zi Yan, is married to a successful businessman. They have enjoyed several years of childless, married life, but their families are starting to pressure them to have children before Zi Yan's biological clock runs out.

There, the FL, Shen Ruoxin, is a single woman living alone in a nice apartment in Shanghai, but despite her career success, her choice to remain unmarried without children is a point of contention with her mother.

As recommended by @daebakpodcast.bsky.social, I finished all twenty one episodes of #WillLoveInSpring this morning. I ended up enjoying this #CDrama and would give it a 9.5/10, for reasons I will discuss after this break.

*spoilers ahead*

Yes, go for it!

Funnily enough, One Dollar Lawyer also crossed over with Taxi Driver (the kdrama, not the Scorcese movie).

One thing I had forgotten about Backstreet Rookie in particular is how pathetic the ML's ex-girlfriend acts. Sure, her parents also act pretty terribly towards the ML, but she takes him for granted right up until he shows interest in getting with the FL, at which point she does a 180 to chase him.

Day 10: Did you rewatch dramas in 2025?

I rewatched Backstreet Rookie in preparation for Dear X (same lead actress), I Hear Your Voice when it popped up recently on Netflix, and of course Melancholia for my little essay project.

2026 is hopefully starting out on a good note with this:
December 10, 2025 at 3:06 PM
It stars Sanada Hiroyuki, who has a long and storied career in Japan and, most recently in the West, as Yoshii Toranaga in the 2024 Shogun adaptation. Sanada plays a high-school teacher, named Hamura Takao, who falls in love with a student named Ninomiya Mayu, played by Sakurai Sachiko.

Day 9 - Did You Watch Any Older Dramas in 2025?

The oldest drama I watched this year in terms of release date was Kou Kou Kyoushi or Kōkō Kyōshi ("High School Teacher"), which was first broadcast in Japan in 1993. Trigger warnings for a whole bunch of things, including:

"Kim Ro-sa's" relationship with the real Kim Ro-sa was a rare example of a F/F relationship in a mainstream drama, which is laudable in and of itself.

Day 8 - Standout Secondary Character

At the risk of going back to this particular well too soon, the supporting character whose story stuck with me the most in 2025 was Won Mi-kyung as "Kim Ro-sa" from #OurUnwrittenSeoul. *Spoilers ahead*

Day 7: Favorite Character

From #OurMovie: Lee Da-Eum, played by Jeon-Yeo-been, was an inspiring character who put everything on the line to fulfill hers dreams despite the medical challenges facing her at a relatively young age. #OurMovie is streaming on Disney+/Hulu.

Day 5: A Drama You Dropped in 2025

I watched #OurMovie on Disney+ earlier this year, and it immediately shot up to the top spot of new dramas I've watched from 2025. When I learned that Jeon Yeo Been was going to star in another 2025 drama, I committed to watching it on release.

Day 5: A Visually Beautiful 2025 Drama

Assuming this means a drama released in 2025, I will throw out #OurUnwrittenSeoul, which features many scenes of a dark, sterile Seoul at the beginning before ending with a lighter, warmer palette.

First, good riddance to one of the most pathetic MLs I've seen in a kdrama in a hot minute (no shade at the actor):

Not #spotifywrapped, but my Apple Music 2025 recap.
December 3, 2025 at 6:19 PM
Since I am probably one of the few #kdrama watchers who has not yet watched #HospitalPlaylist or #AllOfUsAreDead, #HeadOverHeels was my first exposure to actress Cho Yi-hyun.
