Skeets are often satirical and potentially vulgar, but who hasn't heard a weird uncle rant on social media?

I've been quiet on the bluesky. Depression and capitalism are awful. Working on so many projects, but having the funds for none of them sucks. Anyways, I keep writing and keep planning. Here's hoping I actually get some stuff printed up this year for @quillandleaf

Written by yours truly, to be first published in serial by Quill and Leaf Publishing.
We thought this mother's day would be the perfect day to release the cover for our upcoming publication Cruel Summer.

A love letter to the slasher genre and the Friday the 13th franchise which just celebrated its 45th anniversary on May 9th.

Happy Mother's Day Appalachia!

To all the mothers and the sisters and the wives and friends:
I want to offer my love and respect to the end

This mother's day I'll be watching the double feature I've been planning. Thoughts on the films will be up following. Perhaps this one I'll live skeet or thread about.

Not me encouraging Tim Irr to get a pint of ice cream for Mardi Gras.

Tim is an inspiration and champion for Appalachia and one of our favorite people to talk to.

Loving all the Blood Hunt references in Rivals Season 1 now that I've finally caught up to reading it.

Living in Appalachia is amazing because some 60 year old California surfer bro wearing a tie-dye blue manager shirt and golf hat will tell you to, "Keep blasting," while handing your drink out the drive-thru window at noon on a Monday.

Grady Hendrix is probably one of the best horror writers on the market today, and just like the (Steve) King, the film adaptation of his work falls short of the genius of the written word. My Best Friend's Exorcism was an amazing read, bland watch.

One of the easiest things I have done to be more inclusive is add the Blacksky feed. I often find I've switched to it without even realizing and interacting more than I do the regular feed. Anyway. I'm really excited for Captain America, Superman, and Fantastic Four.

There should be designated outdoor weed spaces. Only left handed cigs allowed.

I already love the Fantastic Four movie.

Black history month is so important to Appalachia because Black history IS Appalachian History. John Henry, George Washington Carver, Carter G. Woodson, Katherine Johnson, and all of the people currently working to make sure we do not gloss over history and teach ALL that has occurred.

The burden I must bear, while the cruel scourge I fear,
In the lands of Virginia-ginia O;
And I think on friends most dear, with the bitter, bitter tear,
And alas! I am weary, weary O!

There for awhile people were raving about Don't Fear the Reaper by Stephen Graham Jones. Didn't realize it was part 2 when I read it. Just finished My Heart is a Chainsaw. Holy shit that was a great discourse on slashers. Why aren't these still in the zeitgeist? (Angel of Indian Lake on libby hold)

This dude here knows his shit.
the best punk scenes operate like x-men comics where there’s like two dozen distinct groups at any given time and there’s one or two heavy hitters improbably splitting time between seven of them

Got a notification of someone following me. Checked profile. A quick glance revealed the words "editor" "bannon" "podcast" and I immediately blocked. I couldn't even humor to see if satire.

Just finished writing another kill for slasher inspired summer camp madness that is "Cruel Summer."

Rewatching Bakshi's LotR and thinking how anyone would be advised by a guy named Grima Wormtongue in the first place. However...this is America in 2025...

Saw that @ralphbakshi.bsky.social is out there skeeting so I did a little gander at his following and found some choice accounts.
