Is this even news? He gets minorly injured, goes to the hospital, and the man who's always been obsessed with ratings asks how it's going over on the media. To me. that's just evidence that Trump is Trump, not that it was staged.

You might want to look at User Experience as well; that's the acronym I hear these days more often than HCI.

All you can do (at least this is what I tell myself) is model what it is to be a man and a father in the time you have together. And in my case at least look forward to when you can have an adult relationship with the kids.

I feel you, though. It hurts.

<insert standaard Anna Karenina quote>

I think you're the family that you're able to construct.

22 years ago, my girlfriend realized she was pregnant a few weeks after I broke up with her, and I've have a couple of decades of second guessing myself.

Who are you arguing with? I never said the deaths caused by stopping USAid shouldn't be taken seriously. Taking them seriously does not require mislabelling them, especially when identifying something as genocide had serious legal consequences.

Unjerk your knee. We're talking about USAid here.

But actual definitions of actual words that have actual meanings and consequences are, in fact, important.

I guess you don't follow Tom Nichols. Genocide is a legally defined term and the shutdown is USAid doesn't meet the definition.

Coincidentally, out of vegetarian curiosity, I just looked up the environmental cost of a ChatGPT vs. a steak. Half a liter of water vs. 3,000 liters; 5 grams of CO2 vs. about 2 kg.

Which is not to say that GenAI is excessive compared to other computing, of course, but there's a bit of perspective.

I've found limited use cases for general use (essentially using it as a meta search engine and once or twice generating images for presentations). I've found quite a few valuable use cases in my work, where you can put guardrails around everything to ensure valuable output and advice.

Maybe it's because I live in Amsterdam but I immediately started wondering how many sheets of rolling paper you needed.

You get the benefit of going city center to city center, and you don't have to get to the station hours earlier. From my place in the center of Amsterdam, it's quicker to get to the center of London with the train than it is to fly (or will soon be, when they finish upgrading the passport control).
