yeah, I think it's just both pieces are short and have some similarities. I forget the reason given in the liner notes for the album I have, but I'm sure Bach was taking inspiration from Vivaldi

also why do people keep pairing Bach's Magnificat with the Vivaldi
like, I love Bach, but when you put him next to Vivaldi he comes across as fussy and overworked. like putting Mahler with Sibelius
