Feeling untethered. October I was laid off from what had been my dream job/calling for over 9 years. Then my friends didn’t know how to talk to me because I wasn’t happy anymore, so they went ghost. And then my sister got mad at my voice when I said “hi.” I feel like I don’t have anything anymore.

Remember that episode of The Office where someone was laid off on Halloween? Since I found out on Oct 7 that I was laid off, and my last official day would be Oct 31st, that episode has been running through my head.

I got laid off today. After 9.5 years at my company it hurts that it’s ending this way. I know I’ll find another job, because I’m super smart and awesome, but today the hurt is raw.

This weekend’s bake: Blueberry rolls with lemon buttercream frosting. Used the Model Bakery recipe with @kingarthurbaking.bsky.social bread flour, and flavored the buttercream with lemon curd from the Cake Love cookbook

Timeline cleanse. Last week my puppy turned 7 and he is still the best boy ever.
