Mainly tech, food, entertainment, science, but believe almost any topic really fascinating in the hands of someone really passionate about that topic.

All of the societal effort that goes into making the wealthy happy is like if every year 50% of the money generated in Canada went towards teaching thousands of dogs to become cardiothoracic surgeons.

It's not going to happen, it hardly creates any jobs, and it's fucking up the dogs.

But this series is clearly showing that Interviewer Myke has also gotten even better.

I’ll get greedy and hope you spin off this series into its own thing once Grey returns from his break! 😄

Another great one!! Such a pleasant surprise to see Simone’s name pop up in my podcast list!
I’ve really enjoyed over the years see you evolve from more of an interviewer role in both Cortex and Upgrade to an equal expert. And both shows have been way better for it!

I came here to tell you that this is one of my favorite pieces of your content and also one of your best works! Glad you also think the same!! Great questions, and great flow of questions. John’s always interesting as a podcast guest, and this had lots of new, interesting stuff!

Felt like we had found a secret location along with a handful of the locals 😁 Was such a perfect viewing spot too! And literally empty vs the massive crowds everywhere else. We have been since wondering why so few people were there?

😂
They were spectacular!! We tried watching from Brooklyn, but all areas around the river were closed for ticket holders. So we thought maybe we can see them from manhattan bridge and walked there. Best decision ever!! What views!! And it was empty!!

Hope in democracy persists! I was wary for my invariably liberal feed, who kept raising their hopes day by day, given so many heartbreaks in recent elections.
Guess there’s another reason now why NYC is one of my favourite places in the world! Can’t wait to be there next week!

Kebabs though definitely blew my mind and I went there’s nothing quite like that in vegetarian food. I think definitely the easier gateway for people wanting to try meat. Lots of spices, and the texture is not “meaty”.

That’s when I realised how important context and nostalgia are to the enjoyment or not of food in particular. I simply didn’t have the context of eating beef for a lifetime to be able to appreciate how good it was.

My colleagues (Japs and Americans) couldn’t believe it was about to be my first bite of beef. And according to them, it was pretty damn good beef. So here’s everyone waiting to see my reaction, and I go - “yeah, it’s ok” 😂 So disappointed they were.

Was in Japan on a work trip, out in a pub with colleagues. An American guy wanted to try wagyu and ordered. They didn’t have the super expensive ones, but still something came.
I was curious to try, thinking if I have I to, why not try the most famous beef and see what the fuss is all about.
