These two designs are only a year apart in age. One has most of the features to be found on modern steam locos, and the other seems like a carryover from the late 19th century. Guess which engine is older!

That being said, my love of steam (particularly the international variety) still runs deep!

In recent years, I’ve found myself drawn more and more into the world of transit. Be it the rapid transit and streetcars of major cities, or the interurbans that connected them, my interest in old-school electric propulsion keeps growing.
