Early start today, as the parkup we were on suddenly got hit by strong winds that were buffeting the van. Back in our little lakeside one now. There is a typhoon currently to the south of Tokyo, so pleased we're up on the north coast

Yesterday was very humid and sticky, today has just been pleasant. Or at least that's what we thought, although one local ride passed us wearing winter kit that we would wear in the depths of January 🤷‍♀️

It's the first time we have got the bikes out, as the roads in Izu were brutal (12-14% long hills normal) and then the weather closed in, but today was utterly glorious

It looks lovely and opens later for visitors as a heritage museum, so we'll hopefully still be here to go and have a look around ... It's the first fully thatched one we've seen
