From Resistance to Building

I haven't posted a challenge update in a while.

Not because I quit, but because there were a lot of things to refine.

Day 21 of "0 to 1 Challenge"

Process stalled again.

Reading books, watching videos, but no forward movement.

Last few days had other priorities, barely any time for the challenge.

Something needs to change here.

Day 16 of "0 to 1 Challenge"

Rest day, Saturday - good time to recharge.

Tomorrow:

Second week recap.

This week showed I need to change approach.

Last iteration I had a released product by day 18...

Interesting contrast.

Day 15 of "0 to 1 Challenge"

Tried to think of something interesting to share today, but honestly didn't work on the challenge.

Sometimes the best update is admitting when you didn't show up.

Have a good weekend ahead!

Day 14 of "0 to 1 Challenge"

Yesterday: built automation
Today: it's already bringing first leads

Unexpected how fast feedback arrived.
Less than 24 hours from creation to results.

There's something powerful about building systems that work while you sleep.

Day 13 of "0 to 1 Challenge"

Today worked on automations.

It's satisfying when the mechanism comes alive and saves a few hours.

This isn't just hours saved, it's freedom seeds.

Built simple but effective automation:

Automatic lead export from CRM to email tool.

Day 12 of "0 to 1 Challenge"

Victory today:

Identified 3 key problem zones for chess audience.
Being a chess player myself helped narrow down the real issues.

Next few days:

9+ ideas per problem:

- 3 apps
- 3 digital products
- 3 productized services

Day 11 of "0 to 1 Challenge"

Focused on one audience: chess players.

Instead of overthinking what to create, went straight to Reddit.

Discovered 5+ problems and potential product concepts ranging from printables to micro apps.

Taking a break day.

Tomorrow:

First week recap and what was accomplished.

Day 8 of "0 to 1 Challenge"

Flipping the approach:

Instead of:
Audience - idea - build - sell

Try:
Random idea - build MVP - find audience who needs it - sell

Like chess: random opponent, 3 outcomes.

One sale = success.
Zero sales = pivot.

Basic checks still apply (trends, market size).

Most people ask AI: "Write this for me."
Smart people ask AI: "Help me think through this problem from multiple angles."

One creates dependency.
The other creates capability.

Choose enhancement over replacement.

Day 7 of "0 to 1 Challenge"

Continuation of yesterday. Lots of ideas but none that "click" yet.

At this pace, considering switching to rapid prototyping mode - build multiple small things and see what sticks.

Sometimes the answer isn't perfect planning, it's testing faster.

Day 6 of "0 to 1 Challenge"

Today refined my audience.
Found three groups.

Could move faster, but trying new approach: building for people I'd actually want to talk to daily.

Lesson: Choose your audience based on who you'd genuinely enjoy helping and spending time with every day.

Fellow builders, be aware:

Generative AI isn't a replacement tool.
It's an enhancement system for human capabilities.

The difference between these two approaches will determine whether you become irreplaceable or obsolete in the next 5 years.

Most people are using it wrong.

Who here plays chess?

- Play chess for fun
- Play chess and use it for self-awareness/personal development
- Don't play but want to learn
- Don't play chess (but love strategy games)
- Chess is boring

I use it for development. From 750+ to 1400+ Elo in a year playing intentionally.

Day 5 of "0 to 1 Challenge"

Compiling list of potential problems to solve.

Think I can start development in the next few days.

Gummy Search + ChatGPT + practical experience = powerful combo.

Thinking 1-7 days purely for ideation every 60-120 days could be an excellent habit.

Day 4 of "0 to 1 Challenge"

Product hunting mode.

Explored Gummy Search from new angle.

Still something off, lots of ideas but no "aha" product spark.

Continuing to deconstruct audiences and study problems worth solving.

Key:
Don't drag this out too long.
