Because that’s the way they play the game. The phrase “no smoke without fire” has been used with similar intent, often with me murmuring about smokebombs.

I’m getting flashbacks to GWB’s war on Iraq - the “reasons” kept changing, which meant they were excuses. Now Trump is repeating the play with Venezuela, but even dumber and more obvious. Wonder if the press will call him on it. Doubtful, but I can always hope.

Friend was officially an English major until the very last minute, when they changed to Food Chemistry. I think they enjoyed messing with people.

I was in a college Physics class w/ a friend, & the prof told us that we didn’t have to write well in our homework/tests because we were SCIENTISTS!! This was the same prof who was constantly bitching about how poorly written the texts were these days. We pointedly played Mastermind. No respect.

I knew of someone whose life was made vastly worse because of Ralph’s showboating. It meant that a little-used drug, the only one that really worked for them, was unavailable.

Ralph couldn’t let go of his personal dislike for Al Gore long enough to at least not help the obviously inferior candidate win. That was disqualifying, right there. I will never forgive him for the damage he did.

I never understood that. GWB’s nicknames were offensive, and, to me, said he couldn’t be bothered to learn any of the common people’s names. My nickname for him was “the nasty fratboy.”
