Sarcastic by default.
Here's a quicker demonstration, of them just being stuck. I didn't record them getting forced out BECAUSE WHY WOULD I THINK THIS WOULD HAPPEN, LIKE H E L L O ? Am I the only one that's seen this, I actually don't know.

I wanted to recolor the sketch of Rydia, so here it is - with some artist-sanctioned adjustments of the linework. Thank you for supplying a higher-res version of the sketch! It's let me practice some more with both coloring in general and using my new drawing tablet.

Ah, I see you're a person of culture as well.

Additional note I realized I should bring up: This should not be done excessively. This is something meant to be used in heavy moderation. A GM that just does whatever they want with the dice rolls and mechanics may as well not be playing a TTRPG in the first place, and it detracts from the game.

That said, players using secret rolls are a bad idea, since the temptation for a player to lie to the GM is far greater and has more repercussions, since the GM needs to have the information and the power to know what the players are capable of, and other things that are too long to get into (3/3)

I've nixxed critical hits multiple times because I knew that they'd kill the party member and it wasn't a good time to deal with that. Similarly, I've had bosses hit harder when they were on the back foot or when players were having too easy a time, and vice versa. (2/3)

As an experienced GM, I can tell you without a doubt that you want the GM to make use of them.
The GM is the storyteller for the game, and sometimes, what the dice land on aren't good for the story. The secret rolls give an air of deniability to lean towards or away from player favor. (1/3)

Oh, wow, slick! It was a friend of mine that submitted her before, it slipped my mind before now (My memory's not amazing).

Ooh, goblin week? Well, okay, here's Rydia, the... half-goblin. That counts, right? She's a bubbly artificer spaz and I love her.
