There is no conceivable way an elected representative would vote for any budget for any item unless it comes with Trump's impeachment and imprisonment. The learned helplessness of Democratic politicians and organizations is gobsmacking.

Don't forget, the FBI has been involved in the end of US democracy every step of the way. Even the "Democrats" in charge. Hate ICE but don't forget elements in FBI and other fed. LE have been compromised in favor of Trump for quite some time. Hate them too.

That would be more of "cop bar fight" scenario. AA cops are not going to get between ICE and immigrants/protestors. But the individuals aren't going to make that choice, it will essentially be the police unions in most cities. (I don't think police chiefs would go against their unions in this case.)

I am very skeptical that there are any police forces in the US that would follow orders to interfere with ICE? In general, we should be honest that the police are culturally aligned with conservatism. "Not all cops", sure. But they are historically institutional tools for controlling loser classes.
