That is the thing that’s always confused me about this.

If I’m making a fantasy story and I need reference material for designing a dragon, why would I not just… look up pictures of dragons for reference?

I feel like this is not just unethical, but it’s also over-complicating the process.

There’s also the fact this is part ONE of a two-part story.
If you play the extra runtime card on Doomsday, what will be left for Secret Wars?

Well, aside from so many cameos that they start scraping the bottom of the barrel like bringing back the guy who played Doctor Strange in 1978 tv movie.

Not quite the same thing, but I recently played through Coffee Talk and one of the newspapers that introduce each chapter had a blatant reference to him and I was immediately reminded that game came out in 2020.

That was rather unfortunate.

I first started reading his work with Murder Falcon and that is probably one of my favorite books he’s done. DWJ starts off with a high concept action premise, only to surprise you with the most gut-wrenching storyline you’ve ever read and it just always works.

Even the game seems surprised at this excessive number of fish with that boss title lol

True, but the opportunity was sitting right there lol

Based on that first picture, Sonic is canonically from Chicago now, I guess

I really don’t have much interest in this. I checked out of the MCU after phase 4, with the only MCU movies I’ve seen afterward being GOTG 3 and Fantastic Four.

FF in particular was probably the last movie in their current slate I had any real interest in, unless that Blade movie gets produced.

As for the Larian side of things, I haven’t played any of their games, so I don’t really have a horse in that race outside of general “I don’t supportive generative AI” statements.

2025 for me was a year for going through my back catalogue of games I hadn't gotten around to yet like Uncharted, Bloodborne, Control, and so on and so forth.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is that Control is my GOTY as its one of the four games I have got the platinum trophy for.

Dispatch- interested in it, but hadn't gotten to it yet.

Hades II - just recently played Hades and enjoying it, but that game is going to take a bit of time.

Silksong -just recently played the first one and it didn't really hook me.

KCD - honestly just have no interest in this

If you're wondering why I hadn't played anything like Dispatch, Hades II, Silksong, KCD,or any of the other popular games from this year, each of them had their own reason that could more or less be applied to any game brought up in this conversation.

...my game of the year since the only other game I finished from this year was a survival horror game called Bye Sweet Carole that had an interesting premise of "Clock Tower with the aesthetics of an early Disney movie", but the final game can unfortunately only be rated as a 7/10 at best. (2/idk)
