I hate our unwillingness to own our mistakes & become our better selves. It spread like a disease here, as has the joyful ignorance with which so many elected officials pretend not to know what’s happening. No Kings? You bet! And no Dukes, Lords, Barons, Counts or their female counterparts, either!

Just because you love something/ someone doesn’t mean you don’t hate the way they sometimes behave. I love my country, but I hate the way we’ve treated our Indigenous people. I hate the racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, phony religiosity.

Please don’t give up on us & don’t discourage those of us who are passionate about saving our country.The 36% who didn’t vote aren’t automatically Trumpist or uncommitted. Many were disenfranchised & many need to understand how important their right to vote is. I hope it’s not too late.

Remember the 48.7% of us who said NO to Trump and all the R’s on November 5, and know that we are the Resistance!

I was 18 when, by sheer blessed chance, I met MLK briefly during the Carl Stokes election in Cleveland. His aura was magical & his kindness was something that has stayed with me all these years. I sincerely hope his children know most of us felt nothing but love & respect for him.
