Secondly: don’t assume command-line options from GNU coreutils will work, macOS has a FreeBSD userland for the most part, so some CLI habits will need to be slightly adjusted & rewritten. I see it as an opportunity 🙃

Firstly: give it a chance. The GUI is messy (especially if you come from a tiling WM 😅) but the OS as a whole is great to use. About window control, « command ´ » is a shortcut that saved my life (allows you to cycle between opened windows of an app).
