If you happen to attend a county-sponsored event in Minneapolis, chances are that all or at least most of the food will be vegan. All country events will serve plant-based food. Organizers can request additional animal-based products in addition, but vegan foods will be front and center by default.

There are a lot of bad people who exploit people's love of dogs by raising purebred puppies in horrible filthy conditions and then selling them for exorbitant prices to puppy lovers. Fortunately, there are also a lot of good people working to shut these criminal enterprises down.

E. coli and other disease causing bacteria are swarming through slaughterhouses throughout the world. Many of these bacteria are becoming increasingly resistant to antibiotic drugs. This means that antibiotics we rely upon to cure diseases simply don't work anymore.

The meals consumed by a typical American family cause more greenhouse gases than all of the energy used to heat, cool and power their home. Meat production, particularly beef and dairy, is one of the leading cause of climate change – greater than the entire transportation sector.

The owner's request was not completely unreasonable, and the police did rescue as many piglets as they could. But they also sought to protect the meat industry by keeping the press at bay.
