This *would* be quite the stress-test, as the gears in the center image can't turn - they're locked against one another.

Always a pleasure to read one of your missives...such a good writer, you are.

You're mistaken about your base premise, but, still - very well written.

And it's brand-wide: Vons, Albertsons, Tom Thumb - all of them.

Virtualization has had a negligible impact on the larger trade shows.

Survey after survey has revealed that people go to trade shows for primarily networking/socializing, not education or gear or such.

2/2 Fewer visitors gamble (and can play many more places now compared to 20+ years ago), so the comps to "get you in the door" are a 100% loss now. Look for Strip hotels to devote more time/$ to keeping you on property w/ dining & entertainment packages (think F1 on a smaller scale) in the future.

Yes and no. Always good to pay attention to the numbers, but what you're witnessing isn't as much a decline as a shift/re-alignment.

Broadly: the Strip properties don't want the sub-$1k/stay visitor - no matter how many times that visitor comes per year, there's not enough profit per visit. 1/2

Are you "asking for a friend" or are you trying to tell us you're stuck inside a safe, lol..?

(Short answer - generally not.)

The greater irony of the CoE is that if you delve into Elon's history he has not succeeded at anything that he spearheaded without the aid of gov't. subsidies/no-bid contracts. His past is PACKED with broken promises and abandoned projects.

Ahh, yes - Miller's. Every time I've gone it's been surprisingly not crazy.
