Daemon's daughter Alyssa issues a warning to him about his views, along with the threat that he will not live if he continues to express them. Even Corlys does not interfere on his behalf as Corlys knows Alyssa feelings on the matter as well as how strong those feelings are.

He is even willing to stand against his brother's wife, Princess Rhaenys on this matter. This is a face off that does not end well for him. He is against Rhaenyra's older children, that are said to be by Laenor. He claims that they are not true Velaryons and are bastards.
