Quick trip to Sheringham first thing this morning and it was very wet. Only a few Turnstones about, 3 including this one. The cobwebs were catching lots of rain drops but the Pyracanthas looked quite dry.

Cormorant, one of 16 seen at the lake in Felbrigg NT yesterday, but the highlight were the 7 Pink-footed Geese that dropped in and circled the lake several times before heading east. Found one of King Alfred's Cakes on a moss covered tree stump.

Visit to Felbrigg NT this morning and found lots of Sweet Chestnuts scattered across the path but only found one that had opened to reveal the nuts. Powdery Brittlegill (?) laying amongst the leaf litter and Harebells can still ne found in the meadow.

Came across a Hairy Shieldbug whilst out today, not seen one this year. Yellow Horned Poppy still in flower and brightening up the dunes.
Just put the camera away when 300+ Pink-footed Geese flew over the house this evening. Will not be putting the camera away early again!

Watched a large flock, departing Cley Marshes last weekend. Since then, I have heard them flying near the house as they head inland in search of food. Nice vid, even with the loud bang.

No photographs from today - too busy - so here are a couple from a sunny day in spring. Male Chaffinch looking very bright and colourful and a Jay pondering upon which sunflower seed to eat.

Much brighter day yesterday so worked on a few garden jobs but took time out to do a bit of sky watching. Spotted a distant Red Kite and then a Common Buzzard which was then joined by three others. They circled overhead for a while gradually gaining height before dispersing.

Taking a picture of this Small Copper butterfly at Felbrigg NT yesterday and noticed movement in the grass, turned out to be a frog making its way through the undergrowth.

The bright red berries of White Bryony in the garden hedge, the leaves and stems of the plant having died off. All parts of this plant are poisonous so if removing it make sure you wear gloves. Flowers of Common Mallow and Knapweed found on local roadside verge.

Plenty of Sulphur Tufts about.

Spotted this juvenile Goldfinch in the hedgerow and a Common Darter which has lost most of its bright colour. Apples are starting to fall and something has been feasting on this one. Airbus Beluga flying over earlier this week heading to Germany (according to Flight Radar).
