My guess is that it was a press move to look good compared to Trump - if you put Mamdani and Trump in a room together, Mamdani's just going to come off as more likable and coherent. Also makes him look like the "reasonable" one to lib-brained NY 1%ers.

When you're making something new/experimental, there's some incentive to handhold players through it because you can't expect semi-committed people to stick with your game if they misunderstand what you're trying to do. but Metroid Prime 4 is not that. it is literally the fourth one they've made.
