God I wish this game didn’t get overshadowed a ton when it released. I barely heard much talk of it at all and I really think it’s underrated. Absolutely one of the best open world games, with smooth gameplay and a story that was excellently told. I love Sucker Punch.

I have…too many thoughts to share here. I hope to make a video in the future going over them.

Here, I saw one locked door in the first forest area and was excited to see where it lead. I eventually got through and it lead to an empty room with more doors that I can’t open yet.

Nothing at all to satisfy my curiosity.

Prime 1 was still linear, but it gave you options often that made the world feel big with many paths and cool secrets you could find everywhere which often required upgrades.

I see many places where Retro could easily put a secret or hidden item, and even where it would be fun to have some more places to explore and get lost in. Yet I have been barely lost at all and most of the areas feel like A to B treks than large mazes.

But it’s not only way too overbearing with the first bit of true exploration being interrupted by Myles telling you exactly where to go, but it’s also linear in a way that’s bothering me more than Prime 3 ever did.

No, seriously. This game is cinematic, and is undoubtedly the example RPG’s of this era should strive to be. It has some of my favourite turn based combat mechanics, an incredible soundtrack, tons of content I barely saw by the end, and a story that is actually masterfully told.
