The part I liked best is its inclusion of the classic poltergeist & teen girl relationship. As a former weird & witchy kid, I've always loved that trope. It just feels true. Teen girls are full of fresh rage wrought by puberty & new awareness of their place in the world.

God is it a boring movie though. 1 good scare, maybe 1.5. Too long. Slow as hell. Kidman's acting seems to centre around her dramatic exhalations. Annoyed, scared, angry, sad, murderous rage: all expressed via breathing out.
