So, after watching Nuremberg 2025- (it's a little hit and miss but the good bits pop) I got pretty interested in the viewpoint character- Douglas M. Kelley, the psychiatrist tasked with determining whether or not the defendants were fit to stand for trial. Interest, piqued.

Interesting breakdown of some of the current players. Worth a look through.

The Big Parade, 1925:
First half: kinda awkward, pretty dated romantic comedy that goes on for too long
Second half: the hardest hitting, most spectacular and realistic Great War battle scenes ever committed to film. Bar none, everything since is a shitty imitation.
The ending makes you cry.

Prohibition funny:
A man buys a case of hooch. As is the practice, he sends a sample to a friendly doctor to make sure it's uncontaminated.
Doctor calls him back; "I'm sorry to tell you, son, but your horse has diabetes."

Lillian Gish and other silent film veterans described the coming of the talkies as a tremendous loss.
The loss first of a distinct artform and second of a universal language of pictures and music; something the entire world shared in as one.
